Cancer Gives, and Cancer Takes Away

Friday afternoon Jana got an amazing call from the folks at Team in Training. They had a proposition for us.
See, everybody’s buzzing here in Nashville because our beloved Tennessee Titans are the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL at 6-0. They have a Monday night game, tonight, versus their arch rival, the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning. Everybody’s wearing Titan’s blue, downtown is shutting down, it’s going to be the biggest crowd ever at the field.
And Courtland Finnigan, the starting cornerback from the Titans, donated his 4 tickets to the game to a family battling cancer. We got the call.
Then on Saturday morning, Joshua checked into the hospital. We were released yesterday under the orders from the doctor: “Avoid crowds and big events.”
Hmmm… Pretty sure the biggest football game in this city in the last 5 years qualifies. I think I might buy a new TV just to spite leukemia for this one.
See you at Best Buy.

Hate this for you guys. Jeffrey sat me down and told me what a big deal tonight’s game was and why he was so excited for you to get to go. We’re very sorry it didn’t work out.
Make sure and get some nachos and a large coke with the TV to get the full experience.

I’m so sorry! I’m sure Chris would meet you at Best Buy in a heartbeat. He’s been wanting a flat screen for ages!
We’ll be praying for you guys.

So, wait a second…..you didn’t take the tickets??

Don’t think I didn’t consider hiring another kid to go with me for the pictures. In the end we didn’t take the tickets.
But I could probably be persuaded to take some to the Tech / Texas game this weekend… if only I had a friend in Lubbock…

Currently my tickets (I’ve got 2) are going for $3,500 a piece…..I take cash, check, and all major credit cards.
