Fridays Are For One Question

Not to kick a dead horse, but I’m still thinking alot about floods and stuff right now. So let’s play with that issue on the blog today. Today’s question is about one thing that you value. Now let’s assume for the sake of this question that your family is safe. So are your pets (if you swing that way). But you come home and water is rapidly filling your house.
“What specifically is the one thing you would grab to make sure it wasn’t damaged?”
A favorite book? A chreished photo? A package of half-eaten Doritos? What do you think?
**The goal of “One Question Friday” is simple: To show that everyone has something funny, engaging, creative, and worthwhile to say. So comment away! Be real. Be creative. Think hard. And check back to see how others answered the question.

I’d have to say the laptop. That’s where allllll of the digital photos and videos are; we have some of them backed up on a thumb drive in the safe deposit box, but not all of them.
If I had time, I’d also grab my work laptop (saving me a BIG mess at work even though everything is backed up), and our three boxes of keepsake stuff.

Tough question. I might have to take that one for an icebreaker in my classes.
I would probably say a .22 rifle my dad gave me for Christmas when I was 14. Still have it. Still use it. Still love it.

Love the variety today. We’ve got a laptop full of pictures, a gun, and a toy.
Daryl, which toy is that?

My collection of Tiger Beat magazines.

That last comment became exponentially more awesome after I googled “Tiger Beat Magazine.”

I have a couple of binders where I store pretty much every (stamped, non-mass mailed)letter I’ve ever received – birthday cards from Grandparents, letters from friends in elementary school, the funnier notes from junior high. I’d grab those…

Photo Albums. All 13 of them.

At the moment, her favorite toy would have to be a purple dog named “Violet.”
But I guess I didn’t specify, because that’s not likely to be what I’d grab for her in a few more years. Just that if I could only grab one thing, I would want it to be one thing for HER, not for me. Something that would let her feel at least a little bit of normalcy in the crazy days sure to follow.
This will get complicated in October when there will be two to grab for. In which case, only grabbing one thing will become exceedingly difficult.

I went home and recounted. More like 20 albums.
